Good news! You can manage Public Provident Fund, other Post Office schemes on mobile app soon




Public provident Fund (PPF) investors in post offices (PO) have some good news. Going forward, these investors can not only view the PPF balance but can also transfer funds from their savings account to the PPF account with some clicks. This has been made possible due to all new mobile banking app for the post office savings account holders. One needs to download the Post office mobile banking app to start transferring funds or making new investments.

The post office savings account mobile banking will come handy in regular functions like viewing account balance, details about NSC, post office recurring deposits (RD), loans etc. Investors can view the mini statement of the savings account / PPF along with the transaction history. More importantly, investors can now make fund transfer from a savings account to RD or PPF account using the mobile itself. Even RD account can be done thru app.

Account holders have to apply for mobile banking by filling post Office Savings Bank (POSB) ATM/ Internet/ Mobile banking application form. Fresh KYC is needed in case you haven’t migrated to Core Banking yet

How to download PO Mobile Banking app

After the formalities as mentioned above are done, the account holder will be informed (thru SMS) that he/she can activate mobile banking by downloading the ‘India post Mobile Banking app’ through Google play store. User ID will be CIF (customer information file) code and transaction password will be same as set for internet banking. CIF code will be given by branch at time of activation.

One must note that the facility of mobile banking will be available only at post offices with CBS (core banking solution) facility and the account holder must have net banking activated.

a. One should have post Office Savings Account in CBS post Office.
b. One should have valid login and transaction credentials of Internet Banking. In case the Net Banking is not enabled, it has to be enabled before mobile banking can be done.
c. Post office savings account mobile banking will be available to account holders with either Single or Joint B kind of accounts.
d. Minor account holders will not be allowed for availing Mobile Banking facility.

Department of Post will announce the date by which customers can start registration, post registration you can start mobile banking.
