Apple on Tuesday unveiled the new iPhone 11 smartphones, as successor
to the company's iPhone X series. Apple followed its tradition to launched new
phones in September which it is doing since 2001. While the new iPhones
basically retained the basic design language similar to iPhone X series, the
new iPhone 11 models feature new & faster chips, better cameras, and batteries
that last 1-5 hours longer than the 2018 models
But the biggest talking point is no doubt the “pricing”. While Apple
still has $1000+ smartphone(s), it reduced its ‘least’ expensive (new) mobile
i.e. Iphone 11 to $699, a $50 less than
its predecessor iPhone XR. Apple also reduced price of iPhone XR to $599 as
apple like to keep older models as low cost ones. Also iPhone 11 will be
available in 5 colors, namely Purple, green, yellow, white, black and PRODUCT (RED).
The iPhone 11 runs on latest Apple A13 Bionic chip, which is the fastest
processor in smartphones as claimed by Apple. This chip is 20% faster in terms
of graphics and performance than its predecessor. This processor can do as many
as 1 trillion operations per second. A13 chip is also there in is the same as
the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max.
Apple also want to add new word to vocabulary called “
slofies. It is ability of front facing camera to take slow motion video selfies
The iPhone 11 Pro and its bigger twin the Pro Max have "Super
Retina XDR" OLED displays that are based on the Pro XDR Display. Both
features triple camera setup. These camera include ultra wide lens and apple
claims 4x optical zoom.
Apple also launched next generation apple iWatch, series 5. This
series have “always On” screen meaning you don’t have turn it on / double tap
to check time. Also it reduced price of its 2 year old series 3 watch to $199
bringing it closer to impulse buy category to entice young users / first time
buyers.
Pricing in India
Starting price of apple in India will be Rs 64,900 for iPhone 11. On
other hand, the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max, will start at ₹99,900 and ₹1,09,900
respectively. While this is still costlier than many other “flagships”, one must
note that the launch price for iPhone XR was Rs 76,900. This is first time Apple
have reduced its entry price for new phones. In price sensitive markets like
