The Ministry of Home Affairs, announced ‘Unlock 3’ guidelines on Wednesday, which further relaxations as compared to previous unlock 1&2. However, this doesn’t means we go back to full normal as it was before Covid-19 pandemic. Here are details of what is allowed and what is not

Guidelines announced today will be in effect till 31st August 2020

Finally e-pass system for Inter-state and intra-state movement has been scrapped. No permission will be required from local/police authorities, for such movements. This will bring much relief for lakhs of citizens who are stuck away from their home for months. This will also facilitate movement of migrant workers.

Night curfews have been removed.  

Schools, colleges and coaching institutions will remain closed till 31st August 2020. Metro rail, cinema halls, swimming pools, assembly halls shall remain closed.

Large congregations in which more than 50 persons will be assembled are still not permitted.


Unlock 3.0 guidelines : What’s allowed?

* Movement of individuals during night hours
* Gym will open from 5th August 2020. Yoga institutes can also open from 5th August
* Independence Day functions allowed with social distancing and by following health protocalls
* International air travel of passengers has been permitted under the Vande Bharat mission.


Unlock 3.0 guidelines: What’s not allowed

* Metro Rail services
* Cinema halls, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theatres, bars, auditoriums, assembly halls and similar places.
* Social/ political/ sports/ entertainment/ academic/ cultural/ religious functions and other large congregations.


Unlock 3.0 guidelines for containment zones

* Current Lockdown guidelines in containment zones will remain till 31 August 2020.
Protection for vulnerable persons

Vulnerable persons i.e. people above 65 years of age, persons with co-morbidities, pregnant women, and children below the age of 10 years, are advised to stay at home, except for meeting essential requirements and for health purpose.
