India Post Payment Banking Mobile App: Steps to activate, what are benefits, all you need to know

To begin with let’s first talk about, India Post Payments Bank. India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) has been established under the Department of Posts, Ministry of Communication with 100% equity owned by Government of India. IPPB was launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on September 1, 2018. The bank has been set up with the vision to build the most accessible, affordable and trusted bank for the common man in India.

IPPB motto stands true - Every customer is important, every transaction is significant and every deposit is valuable.

Till now, customer had to visit nearest post office for depositing money, checking balance, transferring money etc. Now the same can be done through IPPB mobile app.

How to register IPPB app

You can download IPPB app on your Android or Apple phone. Click here to download the IPPB mobile banking app for mobile banking services. The process is as follows

1) Enter the details: Account number, Customer ID (CIF), DOB and registered mobile number
2) You will receive a one-time-password (OTP) on your registered mobile number
3) Set MPIN
4) Enter the OTP

Currently available services on Mobile Banking:

Account balance enquiry
Request for a statement of your account
Request for a chequebook (Current Account)
Stop payment on a cheque
Transfer funds within the bank
Transfer funds to other bank accounts
Pay water, electricity and utility bills
Recharge prepaid and DTH (direct-to-home) services
Manage your funds with the linked POSA (Post Office Savings Account) by using Sweep-in and Sweep-out facility

Guide for transferring money in your post office PPF through IPPB

1) Transfer money from your bank account to your IPPB account.
2) Go to DOP services.
3) From there you can choose product- Recurring Deposit, Public Provident Fund,            Sukanya Samridhi Account, Loan against Recurring Deposit.
4) If you want to deposit money in your PPF account, then click on Provident Fund
5) Enter your PPF Account Number and DOP Customer ID.

                                  

6) Mention the amount that needs to be deposited and click on 'Pay' option.
7) IPPB will then notify you for successful payment transfer made through IPPB              mobile application.
8) You can opt for various post office investment options provided by India Post and        make regular payments through IPPB basic savings account.
9) In the same way, you can deposit money in your RD or Sukanya Samriddhi             Account through IPPB mobile app.
