Made in India – Made for World : Here is KIA Sonet 2020
Kia Motors, an
affiliate of Hyundai Motor have launched its first Made in India, made for
world Global product, Kia Sonet. It is third product in Kia Motors' lineup in India. It
will be produced at Kia's Anantpur facility.
The Kia Sonet, will be competing
against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, the Ford
EcoSport and Tata Nexon
Like the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet will get
three engine options – a 1.5L petrol, a 1.0L turbo petrol, and a 1.5L turbo
diesel. Again, Sonet will also get GT Line as well as Tech Line similar to
Venue. GT Line is a sporty version. Transmission options include a five-speed
MT, a six-speed MT, a six-speed AT, a seven-speed DCT, and a six-speed iMT
(clutchless transmission).
Interiors
Kia Sonet's cabin’s highlighted will be a large
10.25-inch (26.03 cm) HD touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and
live traffic support. Other key interior elements are Air purifier with virus
protection, BOSE seven-speaker audio system with sub-woofer, ventilated
driver and front-passenger seats, LED sound mood lighting, remote engine
start for automatic and manual transmission via UVO Connect and Smart Key,
over-the-air (OTA) map updates, and wireless smartphone charger with cooling
function
Safety
Features
Kia Sonet's will sport of many safety
features that include six airbags, ABS with EBD (electronic brake force
distribution), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), HAC (Hill-start Assist
Control), VSM (Vehicle Stability Management) and BA (brake assist), front and
rear parking sensors, projector fog lamps, tyre pressure monitoring system
(TPMS), auto headlamps, and ISOFIX child-seat anchoring points.
UVO Connect
Kia’s UVO
‘connected car’ technology provides a range of 57 features for convenience,
remote control, navigation, safety, security and vehicle management. This also
includes Kia’s UVO Voice Assist feature - that can be used to operate multiple
features like phone calls, weather information, time and date, Indian holiday
information, media control, navigation control, climate control, and industry-first
driver window up/down through voice command.
Kia’s system can also provide live
traffic information and will get Over-The-Air (OTA) map updates. A wireless
smartphone charger with cooling function has also been incorporated.
One can expect a price range of about Rs 7
lakh to Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom). Kia Seltos is expected to be launched in
India in the upcoming festive season.
