How to link your PAN with your SBI bank account

In order to get your income tax refund, it is important to link your Permanent Account Number (PAN) with your bank account. In case you need to do high value transactions (usually above Rs 50,000), then also Pan linkage is a must          

1 out 3 bank account is with SBI today. Here is how you can link your PAN with your State Bank of India (SBI) bank account.  

Follow these steps :     

Step 1: Visit SBI website, www.onlinesbi.com and login to your account.

Step 2: Under the 'My Accounts & Profile' tab, click on 'Profile' option.  

Step 3: Under the 'Profile' section, click on 'PAN registration' option.

Step 4: A new webpage will appear on your screen. You will be asked to enter your profile password. Remember your profile password is different from your login password.           

Step 5: Click on submit after entering your profile password. If the PAN is already registered in your account, then it will be reflected on your screen.          

Step 6: If not you will be asked to select the account number for which you want to link your PAN. Enter the PAN number in the required box.          

Step 7: Click on Submit.           

Your request for linking your PAN with your SBI bank account will be forwarded to your bank branch. The branch will process your request in seven days. Once your PAN is linked with your account, then the bank will send you an SMS confirming the same.
