Flipkart’s annual 'Big Billion Days' festive sale will run from 16th October 2020

Keeping in mind the upcoming festivals, e commerce major, Flipkart has announced dates for its annual shopping jamboree, “Big Billion Days”. Big billion days event will run from 16th Oct to 21st Oct 2020

The six-day event aims to tap the country’s festive season, as millions of consumers are expected indulge in online shopping. Flipkart “Plus” customers will be able to have an ‘early access’ on 15 October.

Kalyan Krishnamurthy, CEO, Flipkart Group, said, “The Big Billion Days stands for a celebration of brands, an assortment of collections never seen before, a spirit of festivity and joy, and a feeling of immense excitement as everyone embarks on their festive season preparations.”     

“Through strong partnerships with brands and sellers, we have tapped into the power of interconnected businesses and technology to bring consumers a wide range of products at great prices at their doorsteps this festive season.” He further added in statement

The company has on-boarded thousands of new merchants on its platform in the last six months and offered them the required hand-holding,

The event is expected to create more than 70,000 direct jobs and lakhs of indirect seasonal jobs as more sellers including, artisans gear up to fulfill consumer demand, the e-tailer said in a statement.

Flipkart, which is owned by US retailer Wallmart, has enabled convenient payment options on its platform, to pave the way for consumer-centric shopping experience. Flipkart customers will be able to avail a 10 % instant discount through their SBI debit and credit cards. No-cost EMIs will be made available to consumers through offers from Bajaj Finserv EMI cards and other leading bank credit and debit cards. Additionally, Flipkart has also partnered with digital payments firm Paytm to offer cashback to consumers paying through Paytm Wallet and Paytm UPI.

Flipkart has roped in celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan, Virat Kohli, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, and Mahesh Babu, for the upcoming Big Billion Day event.
